Practice management modernization

Your practice system holds the data. We build the reporting layer it was never going to give you, inside your own environment, refreshed without anyone pulling a report.

Who this is for. Managing partner, firm administrator or chief operating officer of a firm running Practice CS or a comparable practice platform.

Data you cannot see, then dashboards that refresh, then partners act on it. Two bars are flagged. A person signs it off.Practice CSTimesheetsARPARTNER VIEWSIGNEDWIP, this morning.Data you cannot seeDashboards that refreshPartners act on it

The problem today

Practice CS is a capable system that holds everything you need and makes almost none of it easy to see. Pulling work in progress, billing by project or timesheet compliance is slow and manual, so it happens monthly at best.

That delay is the real cost. Most firms discover a realization problem or a time capture problem at month-end billing, which is weeks after the point where someone could have done something about it. Meanwhile an administrator spends a large part of every week pulling and reformatting reports that should refresh themselves.

What we deliver

  • Executive dashboards on your own data

Revenue, margin, realization and utilization in one place, refreshed automatically. Partners stop asking the administrator and start looking.

  • Drill-downs that answer the next question

Work in progress, AR aging, and performance by partner, project and client. When the headline number looks wrong, the detail behind it is one click away rather than one request away.

  • Filters for how your firm actually thinks

By staff member, by seniority, by project lead. The same dashboard answers a partner's question and a department head's question without being rebuilt.

  • Timesheet insight while it still matters

Work in progress and time capture discipline updated continuously, so an unbilled pile or a staff member under pressure is visible during the month.

  • Red flag alerts

Time capture gaps and credit memo patterns surfaced as they happen, with enough context for a partner to act on them without an investigation.

  • Client profitability and engagement health

Profitability by client, revenue trend, and service mix, so the annual conversation about which clients to keep is informed by numbers rather than impressions.

  • Billing and AR workflow automation

The preparation around billing, statements and collections follow-up moves to agents, with your staff reviewing and sending.

What agents do, and what your team approves

What the agents do

Agents read your practice data on a schedule, rebuild every dashboard and report, prepare billing and statement runs, and raise the exceptions that need a partner's attention.

What they never do

Nothing is billed, written off or sent to a client until a named person in the firm approves it. The dashboards are read-only by design.

Systems we work with

From past work

What we have built

We built and operate an executive dashboard and AR automation layer over Practice CS for accounting firms. It deploys inside the firm's own environment, the firm defines who can see what, data refreshes daily by default and can be set more frequently, implementation runs one to two weeks, and partners reach it from desktop, web or mobile. Several firms now run their weekly management meeting directly from it.

Questions we get

Do we have to leave Practice CS?

No, and for most firms we would advise against it. This is an addition to Practice CS rather than a replacement for it, which is the point: you get modern reporting without the cost and disruption of migrating a practice platform. If and when you do decide to move, that is a separate conversation and we can help with it.

Can partners see WIP and AR daily?

Yes. Daily is the default refresh and it can run more often if your firm wants it. The practical change is that work in progress becomes something you manage during the month instead of something you discover at billing.

Where does our data go?

It stays inside your infrastructure. The dashboards are deployed into your own environment and your firm defines the access rules. Client data does not leave your control.

How long does implementation take?

One to two weeks for a standard deployment, working with your administrator. Most of that time is agreeing which metrics matter to your partners rather than technical work.

What does a migration to a different platform involve?

If you do eventually want to move, we handle selection and migration as separate work and we take no fee from any vendor. That is covered on the ERP selection and migration page.
