Agent governance and audit trail

The limits agents work within and the log of what they did are part of your system of record. Governance starts when the record is built and needs no separate tool added later.

Who this is for. CFO, controller or audit committee at a company already using or adding AI agents in finance.

Every agent, then one set of rules, then you set the rules. Two bars are flagged. Agents write every action to a log under the record. The problem today

The first agent is easy to watch. By the tenth, added one project at a time by different people and vendors, nobody has one list of what each agent does.

Nobody can say what each one can touch or what it costs, and proving what an agent did means piecing it together from several systems.

What we get ready firstBefore any agent starts
  • Every agent on one inventoryWhat it does, who owns it, what it can reach and costs
  • A named owner for the rulesYour controller holds them, and changes need sign-off
  • Limits written into the recordAmounts, accounts, vendors and approvals, set once
  • A source to check each outputThe bank statement, subledger or filing it must tie to
  • A review queue with a person on itAnything unsure or untied waits there for a decision
  • A pause switch on every agentOne can stop at once while the others keep working
Then every agent runs under one rulebook

What changes

  • Agents got added project by project, and nobody has the full list.

One inventory shows what each agent does, who owns it and what it costs.

  • Proving what an agent did means digging through several systems.

Each run is logged in order and can be replayed for your auditor.

  • An agent looks off mid-close, and stopping it could stop the close.

You pause that agent. Its open items wait and the others keep working.

What we deliver: AI agent governance for finance

  • An inventory of every agent

What each agent does, who owns it, what it can access and what it costs to run.

  • One set of rules

Limits on amounts, accounts, vendors and approvals are written into the record once and applied to every agent. Changing a rule needs sign-off.

  • A full action log

Every run is recorded in order, with what the agent read, what it did, which rule allowed it and who approved what. It can be replayed step by step and handed to an auditor.

  • Checks against the source

Agent output is tied back to the bank statement, subledger or filing. Anything that does not tie, or that the agent is unsure of, goes to a review queue.

  • A pause switch

Any agent can be stopped at once without stopping the rest of the close.

  • A monthly report

Quality, exceptions and cost per agent, so you keep the agents that pay off.

What agents handle, and where your team steps in

What agents handle

Agents run their work inside the rules and write every action back to the record.

Where your team steps in

Your controller owns the rules, reviews the queue and decides which agents to expand, change or switch off.

Questions we get

Will our auditors accept an agent's log as evidence?

That decision belongs to your auditors, so we walk them through the log early. A record made as the work happens, showing the rule and the approval behind each action, gives them something they can test. We will not promise an answer on their behalf.

Can we govern agents we did not build with you?

Yes. Any agent can go on the inventory and under the same rules. How complete its log can be depends on what that agent can report, and we will tell you where the gaps are.

How do we stop an agent mid-close?

With the pause switch. The agent stops at once, its open items stay in the review queue, and the other agents keep working.

Who owns the rules?

Your controller. We help write them, but they sit in your record, and any change needs sign-off and is logged like every other action.
